Year Two
Children in year two can look forward to an exciting year of different and interesting topics. Such as Animals, The Great Fire of London, Egypt and the 1960’s. As well as this we will be doing exciting work on Biodiversity, so the children can learn how to take care of their planet.
Throughout the year we will endeavour to take the children on as many educational visits as possible and any adult helpers would be very welcome, as without this we struggle to leave the school grounds.
Children in year two also experience a highly valuable learning experience in Walkwise, which aims to teach them how to keep safe when out of school.
We would appreciate your help with your children’s learning. You can do this by reading daily with your children, practising spellings and any number work that comes home with them.
Children are expected to take more responsibility; however we would appreciate it if you could help your child to remember their planners daily, their PE kits and water bottles on a Monday and their spelling books on a Friday.
7.01.10- Homework
Hello to you all in Year Two!
Take a look outside your window- make a list of words to describe what you see.
Imagine if the weather was like this all the time! Write down some positives (good points) and negatives (bad points). Can anyone at home add to your suggestions? We will have a look at your ideas on Monday.
Write down all the 'ay' (as in play) words that you know- also words ending in 'ed' (as in played).
As you know our topic this term is Ancient Egypt. If you are able to use the internet do some research and see what fascinating facts you can uncover!
