Assessment
In the Foundation stage children are assessed against the Early Learning Goals using the ‘Flying Start 2’ baseline assessment package and the Foundation Stage profile. At the end of Key Stage One children take Statutory Assessment Tests in Maths and English. At the end of Key Stage Two children sit Statutory Assessment Tests in Maths, English and Science. In addition, children in Years 3,4 and 5 take optional SAT’s at the end of the year. These are the formal assessment arrangements in operation in the school.
Throughout the year teachers carry out a series of more informal assessment tasks to monitor the progress of the children. These may include Management of Behaviour Health & Safety Assessment observations. Information from these assessments are passed on to parents via reports and open evenings.
